Fuentes de Onoro the revenge

So a few days ago we had a second try at the scenario but using a different ORBAT .
The French would lose their 12 pounder as none of those guns where used in Spain after 1809 ( or 1810 ), the french would have better infantry ( no provisional ), the Portuguese infantry was of a slightly lower quality, Fuentes de Onoro would give +2 and be reduced to 2 "blocs" each with 2 bases as garrison ..some changes and what would happen

We also began the battle a bit later so the french are already near the british flank and the deployment has been slightly modified to be more historical ( based upon different sources)
I was once again in charge of the defence of Fuentes de Onoro

Added Portuguese cavalry

There is a hole in the line we will have to move rather quickly

The french cavalry

I could not really follow the battle in the plain but the light brigade manages to stop the french advance and the cavalry managed to slow down the french cavalry even rout some of their units. Both forces where exhausted but held so the french were stopped.
This time I lost the battle at Fuentes de Onoro. Olivier and I played it to the end because we wanted to test fighting in such a BUA area to the utmost. It was a question of reserves, a bit of luck as always. The french managing to rout the british guard at impact ( 10-1 does not help) , at shooting we had the funny case of olivier rolling twice a 2 or 3 and I a 1 so a Portuguese brigade, french unengaged and ready to charge just got routed ( 4 loses) well it happens so in the end he conquered the village but in a very depleted status. I could have retreated and wait in the open on the hill but I did choose to go for it. It was bloody, it was fun and seemed realistic
The game lasted about 3 hours, very tense and we concluded that it ended as a draw
