This year's theme was All 2025 list from 3000 BCE to 476 CE
I used an old army partly painted by my son nearly 16 years ago or a QIN army

I did not expect to be on the podium but hoped for fun .
Some of the armies can be found on : https://gamer-at-the-end-of-time.blogspot.com/2025/10/rueil-2025-lists.html
I first encountered Fred Dufour and his chariotry

His chariotry being SUP and melee expert had the advantage of the colour green on white except at impact . But I had the numbers would they tell ?

Chariots face to face but his are SUP , mine are AV

The heavy fighting is there

The last picture of that tense game that ended 10-12 in favour of Fred. Both sides went in, dice were ...dice
I will put now the pictures of my next 3 games as I began to feel unwell, I did not take so many pictures was it long covid, stress, fighting a cold, just fatigue I just tried to go on playing as the show must go on
My next game would be the most difficult one as I would face Renaud's Graeco-Bactrian and dreaded cataphracts against whom my infantry was mostly powerless unless impact would be exceptionally good

In short I was heavily out scouted something like 80% and Renaud very sensibly went in with a concentrated iron fist which I will never be able to stop

I tried to solw him down but my running away chariot would roll a 1, die and open the way . meanwhile I will try to kill a phalanx with my sup infantry

A first charge on the right side of the picture, 2 bases lost

This was not going well

The situation is worsening

Nothing new on my left front except his black shooty dice who always hit beware the black die

I will manage to kill the phalanx and the game will end
4-12 in favour of Renaud. 13 TUGs help avoiding complete disaster and I must admit , Renaud's first charge was spectacular but his last CL charge as well : 6 dice including 2 shatter rerolls and 6 x "S"
My third game would see me facing an historical opponent or a Baiye army under Adrian's leadership . A difficult match up but his army is tribal so not so manoeuvrable . It will help me

He did choose to defend and I out scouted him . The brown area on the left is a difficult mountain where I concentrated my crossbowmen . I faced 15 TUGS, some SUP, none poor .

No subtlety just going in hoping impact would work well

As I kept some good cards, Adrian was despairing having them to manoeuver his tribalish army .

No my chariots are not DC so very frustrating

The game would end 8-2 in my favour. I will be able to outmanoeuvre one flank and kill some units but melees were difficult and often inconclusive. The referee had to stop the game as we did not see the time flow by
My last game was vs another Qin army under the legendary leadership of Gilles the Legendary number 8 general

He was legendary but still outscouted and I more numerous

Basically I tried to slow him down while sending my best SUP units into his teeth . It worked well but the fights AV vs AV were long , balanced and very tense . Finaly as I broke through with my right flank some KABs made the difference . I was so mentally exhausted the Gilles had to point out to me I had broken his army for and end result of 15-0 and unexpected results but it could easily have gone the other way round.
A Qin army was not the best army to use during this cataphract heavy tournament but it was fun .
I whish to thank all my fellow players for all the nice games and thanks to Fred for organising EMEGC 2025

Next EMEGC should take place at Geneva in 2026
