REG is a very different beast than MEG and I am far from being proficient in the rules, the strategy and tactics to use so it was more curiosity.
Lack of opponents on the continent means lack of training so I knew the Prophet would not shine but at least I could have fun
But it was to be a very tiring experience as I had constantly to think about the rules and my long covid causes concentration problems but yes it was fun
This is the list I used
My first opponent was to be the best UK player Alasdair and his provincial ottoman army
I had a bit of luck some open terrain so his dreaded Janissaries would not rush easily towards my battle line . I knew his lancers would be able to pursue till the end of my baseline and so come back on table but behind my lines ...this is REG do not forget it
Ottoman cavalry
Janissaries and dreaded Egyptian janissaries
His fortified camp and delaying force
My hussars the blue one's being the exceptional TUG
Starting to manoeuver
My delaying force of polish Cossacks does the job
For now it works I sacrifice my Cossacks but his SUP lancers take more time to get trough than should be . I am happy but for how long.
Here is the result of my biggest problem. My talented CIC will lack colours during 2 turns which will impair my movements. ( zebra cards never help )
And the flanking units still do the job
My cuirassier do engage a lancer unit and it will end in disaster
the pursuing ottomans hit a skirmish unit in loose order it will be the end of my army as my unit will break after having inflicted heavy loses on the lancers but not destroy them. So that unit will be in the back of my infantry which means the end of the game . My infantry is not of high quality and a pincer with SUP janissaries to the front and SUP lancers to the back is my death
Here there has been some fights with some polish successes but at heavy cost
My flank delaying force, after a hard fight, will finally die
So if I remember well I got 4 points but 15 to Alasdair
